There are many aspect in blog which are so important to help your blog grow better and perhaps bigger. For example design,content,traffic,comment and also relationship with your reader, every of it plays its own important part, and sometime they are somehow related.  Even so you do not always have to strive for all of the aspect because catching two rabbit you gonna miss both, so my advice is try to strive for something that you are capable doing in your own border of range, for example maybe you couldn’t give valuable content all the times, but instead you can communicate with your reader better.

For this post, I am going to strive and two aspect design and content, because with both of it it could help you gain other important aspect of blogging like traffic and comment.  As for design, it is something that people gonna see first and give the first impression – let say they stumbled and find your blog, because they never read your blog before they tend to look into the design and then they make decision to stay and read some post or just stumbled other blog.  Content as all people know it as a king, like customer to the business it plays really important in blogging growth.

Design

Blog with unique and good design gain more recognition compare to normal and average looking design.  In The Smashing Book ‘How to turn a site into remarkable brand’ by Chris Spooner highlight Web Designer Wall as closest example to show how important design helps blog grows better.  The uniqueness of Web Designer Wall design gain the blog a lot of attention.

How to benefit from good design

1. Submit  your blog to numbers of design showcase site for example cssmania and we love wp.  My blog once showcase in we love wp and it bring me significant numbers of new reader.
2. Make sure you comment on design blog that always roundup some best design so that they will notice you.
3. Word of mouth, this one work by itself, when you have good design people will talk about it and your blog gain attention on its own.

How to get good design

1. Premium themes – this always the best option, you can find so many premium themes out there, some of it are expensive and some other truly cheap.  And for me I recommended elegant themes and theme forest.
2. Free themes – this one is not the least option, because some free themes were as good as premium themes, like I said before my design showcased by we love wp and it is a free themes not a premium one.
3. Self-made themes – if you are a designer then this very much the best option for you, but if you are not maybe its a very much expensive for you to hire designer to design specifically for your blog, but if you have money to invest this is worth it.

Content

Maybe you now have doubt about content is king, as you read from other blog talking about content alone is not enough, and I agree with it but you can ignore the fact that content still play major part your blog reputation and also SEO.  So for me content very much still the king, but the king also need the other to make sure the flow is good.

How to write good content

1. Write something that worth sharing – as you already know twitter, facebook and other social networking site is very much help one blog to gain attention.  If you write something that received hundred of tweets than your blog absolutely received numbers of traffic.
2. Write something that help you and your reader – if you are able to write something that really help your reader learn something new or help them improve their knowledge and that enough to make it a good content.
3. Write something different or in different way – maybe to find unique content is hard, because almost everything has been covered but you can write it differently though and make it look unique.  And its a must if you want to stand out in very crowded niche.

As above matter I’m sure now you understand how important good design and great content are, maybe you can strive both but one is good enough to help you but if you strive both of it that definitely help your blog a lot.  So what you think about the important of design and content?  If you need to choose only one which you prefer most?
