Every time when I open new wordpress blog, the first thing that I did is install plugins that I think a must for my blog and for you too. Currently I installed 17 plugins, but today I want to give you 15 because other two is not a must just for extra functioning. I know there is lot post about plugin, and I can’t promise you that my list consists of plugins that you never knew before – good things are very popular don’t they? Enough of it, here the list -

1. After the Deadline
Developed by Automattic (wordpress developer) that enough to show that this plugin really great. This plugin is about checking your writing – spell checking, grammar checking and style checking. As for me I’m not that good in English, hence sometime my grammar is just poor, so After the deadline really help me here and there. But be remind you can expect after use it you will be error free, no there is no such perfectness in any things.
2. Akismet
This is one of default plugin that available on any installed wordpress and I’m sure you already know about it. Also one of Automattic production, this plugin will eat spams out of your blog. As you know, my blog is auto-approve comment system, so if there are new comments I will show in comment section without approval – it is what spammer love, but my comment is safe and clean from spam it all because of Akismet.
3. All in one SEO pack
I’m absolutely not care much about SEO stuff, since I’m out of it knowledge, just know a bit about it and this plugin really help me in many ways to make sure my blog is SEO enough. I think most wordpress blog have this plugin since it so good and popular.
4. Automatic Link
Maybe this plugin not as popular as plugin above, but this plugin really help me a lot especially for my blog list. I have numbers of link, I can’t afford to link one by one, so with this plugin what I need just copy url into the post and it will automatically become a link. Simple function but really give big hand to me.
5. CommentLuv
This plugin I been use for long time, until I have some problem with it, and stop using it. But then after I read 111 active blog with commentLuv, I think I should join the group and at least I can give something to my reader. I think it does help in gaining more and more comment, it just put a link to commentator latest blog post and I don’t think you shouldn’t use it.
6. Cute Profile
This somewhat new plugin(at least for me) since I never heard before until recently. It is plugin that give you beautiful and neat social networking icon at very left/right of your screen, and it didn’t disturbing the content or the sidebar. Really love it even I just use it – it help me gain more friend from facebook and twitter etc. Have a try the cuteness and I sure you will love it too.
7. Do Follow
Wordpress have no choice but to place the nofollow attributes in comment section because some of us think that by dofollow it will actually asking for spam, but it false belief.. with this plugin the evil nofollow attributes (the plugin description) are removed and yes, my comment is dofollow and you should too.
8. Feedburner FeedSmith
After you register your blog feed to feedburner, this plugin is absolutely a must. This plugin will take all kind of feed and redirect to your feedburner, this is important so that you can know more detail about you subscribers as well as know what number you now at.
9. Get Recent Comment
Recent Comment actually already available in default wordpress widgets, but the default one can’t give you much control like this plugin (such as you can’t exclude blog author comment, which is something that you don’t need), of course you can edit the default widget with your own code, this plugin gonna save your precious time and you don’t need to worry about editing the code.
10. No self pings
It a wise move to make sure that you link your new post with older post that related, it could give your reader more information as well as you gain more pageview. But if you link to your older post, it will ping or trackback and you don’t need this so this plugin will help you to take that problem out.
11. Subscribe to Comment
Maybe it kind of useless in some points, but it is an important plugin still. I rarely subscribe to comment when I commenting on other blogs, and I know some of you too.. but by use this plugin at least I can make sure that if there are readers that love to subscribe to comment – they can easily subscribe and manage their subscription.
12. Top Commentator widget
This is one of plugin that could boost your comment numbers, by placing the top commentator link in your blog it could encourage your reader to read your post and actually commenting. This plugin very easy to use, and the option also can help you a lot, in decide how you want to display it,for example – reset the list monthly or weekly.
13. Wordpres Database Backup
Backup, backup and backup – this is important aspect to make sure that you long last, you don’t know what gonna happen to your server or you might be hacked etc, so if you backup you can easily retrieve everything back. This plugin have many option of backup for example email the backup, or even store in your local computer. There is also scheduled backup which what I been using.
That all for 13 wordpress that I installed and you should too. Did you use any plugin above and if you do what you think about it? What other plugin that you think should on the list?

Nice list, but I would maybe add a few more like:
1. MaxBlogPress Ping Optimizer
2. Google XML Sitemaps
3. Login LockDown
4. WP Super Cache
Maybe have a look at them as I think it would benefit you and your site.

CommentLuv is important, most bloggers use this tool to give something back to their readers and the developers are kind and generous.
And of course the “backup” never run any system without it….
I am starting a new WP blog for a friend and i’ll take note of the lists.. thanks!

Don’t forget Super cache, if you are on shared hosting, you can’t live without it.
I use a combo of Hypercache with DB cache. Google for “Best WP Super Cache Alternative” This is the fastest combo for blogging.

The latest plugin I’ve added that you have listed here is the no self pings plugin, and that’s worked great because I do a lot of internal linking and getting all those messages that I had to keep deleting was really irritating.
